Dolichos biflorus agglutinin (DBA) binds α-linked N-acetylgalactosamine. Used to establish secretor status in blood group A individuals by hemagglutination inhibition techniques and for blood typing, this lectin has also been used as a general marker of developing renal collecting ducts. This conjugate features a ratio of biotin to lectin protein that provides optimal avidin/streptavidin and lectin binding activity. Supplied essentially free of unconjugated biotins, it is preserved with sodium azide.
