MOG (35-55), human is a component of CNS myelin. It differs from mMOG (35-55) by a proline for serine substitution at position 42. This peptide is immunogenic via binding to H-2b class II MHC and is recognized by T cells, but it is not encephalitogenic. It shows only partial cross-reactivity with mMOG35-55 and induces minimal clinical signs of EAE compared to the rodent peptide.
