FastDNA™-96 Tissue and Insect DNA Kit is designed for the rapid, high-throughput isolation of PCR-ready genomic DNA from animal and insect samples.

• Product Overview: Rapid, High-Throughput Isolation of PCR-Ready Genomic DNA from Animal and Insect Samples The FastDNA™-96 Animal and Insect DNA Kit is designed for the simple and rapid isolation of PCR-quality DNA from genomic, viral and mitochondrial DNA from fresh or frozen tissue samples, insects, and arthropods in approximately 40 minutes.
• Animal tissues (brain, heart, kidney, liver, bone, etc), cultured mammalian cells, whole blood, as well as D. melanogaster, mosquitoes, bees, lice, and ticks are easily lysed in approximately 60 seconds with the FastPrep-96™ Instrument.
• Up to 10 mg of fresh, frozen, or stored mammalian tissue or insects are placed into each 1.2 mL tube of a FastDNA-96™ Lysing Matrix Rack (96-deep well plate) containing 2.0 mm specially stabilized Zirconium oxide lysing particles, which are designed to efficiently lyse all cell and tissue types whether mammalian or invertebrate, while in the presence of a specially formulated lysis solution. The cleared lysate is then applied to a binding matrix to isolate the DNA, and spin column plates are used to simplify liquid handling. Purified DNA is eluted in an EDTA-free, DNA elution solution, and is ready for downstream applications including digestion, electrophoresis, arrays, genotyping and PCR (A260/A280 ratios ≥1.8). Yield is typically 1 to 5 μg of DNA per mg tissue (3 to 7 μg of DNA per 100 μL whole blood) eluted in 50 to 100 μL of elution solution (25 mL minimum.) This procedure can be performed in minutes, and there is no need for organic denaturants or proteinases.
• Applications: The FastDNA-96™ Tissue and Insect DNA Kit is designed for the simple and rapid isolation of PCR-quality DNA from genomic, viral and mitochondrial DNA from fresh or frozen tissue samples, insects, and arthropods in approximately 40 minutes. The DNA then isolated and purified using spin column plate technologies is now ideal for downstream molecular-based applications including PCR, array, genotyping etc.
