Uses Lysing Matrix A (garnet and 1 1/4 inch ceramic bead) for cell lysis and a silica-based method for the purification process. Lysing Matrix A and 3 different chaotropic buffers are provided for the homogenization of a wide variety of sample types (plant and animal tissues, cultured cells, bacteria, yeast, fungi, insects, etc.). DNA is released within 40 seconds, and is purified by a silica-based procedure. Eluted DNA is ready for digestion, electrophoresis, PCR and any other desired application.
