Single stranded RNA virus that infects Escherichia coli

  • Can be used as an internal control in nucleic acid-based amplification assays
  • Each aliquot contains 0.1mL of partially purified, live, titered MS2 Bacteriophage, may also contain some E. coli DNA
  • The titer adjusted to 1.0 x 109 (plaque forming units/mL (pfu/mL)) prior to aliquoting and storage
  • Product supplied in SM buffer

Controls should be run using the same protocols as those used to amplify extracted clinical specimens.
