Description

Mucicarmine stock solution is used for the histological staining of tissue mucins with epithelial origin.

  • It is used to distinguish mucin negative undifferentiated squamous cell lesions from mucin positive adenocarcinomas. In addition, it can stain the mucopolysaccharide capsule of Cryptococcus neoformans.
