Mumps virus strain Enders is propagated in SL-29 cells (ATCC CRL-1590). It was isolated from the pooled saliva of patients in Boston, Massachusetts, and was deposited by the Children's Medical Center. This strain has applications in respiratory research and in the preparation of skin test and viral V and S complement fixation antigens.
