Mv 1 Lu (NBL-7) is an adherent mink lung epithelial cell line established in May 1964 from nearly full-term Aleutian mink fetuses (Neovison vison). It is commonly used as a transfection host and for focus-forming assays with murine and feline sarcoma viruses, and is suitable for 3D cell culture applications.
- Established from lung tissue of Aleutian mink fetuses.
- Epithelial morphology; adherent growth.
- Suitable for focus-forming assays and transfection studies.
- Culture medium: Eagle's Minimum Essential Medium (EMEM) supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum.
- Incubation: 37°C, 5% CO2.
- Karyotype: majority of cells near diploid; some cells show a dicentric chromosome.
