HMR 1556 is a chromanol-derived research compound that potently and selectively blocks the slowly activating delayed rectifier potassium current (IKs). It is used as a pharmacological tool in cardiac electrophysiology and pharmacology to probe IKs-mediated repolarization in vitro and in vivo. Reported IC50 values include 10.5 nM (canine left ventricular myocytes) and 34 nM (guinea pig left ventricular myocytes).
- Potent IKs blockade at low-nanomolar concentrations.
- Selective for IKs with limited off-target activity at pharmacologically relevant doses.
- Suitable for in vitro and in vivo electrophysiology and pharmacology studies.
- High-purity solid form, soluble in DMSO for stock solutions.
- Documented solubility and storage conditions for reliable experimental use.
