N-(n-Butyl)thiophosphoric triamide (NBPT) is a urease inhibitor used to slow enzymatic hydrolysis of urea in soil, reducing ammonia volatilization and improving nitrogen fertilizer efficiency. It binds the nickel active site of urease, delaying urea conversion to ammonium and helping to retain nitrogen in the crop root zone.
- Potent urease inhibitor that delays urea hydrolysis.
- Reduces ammonia volatilization from urea-based fertilizers.
- Improves nitrogen use efficiency and crop nitrogen uptake.
- Available as a 10 mM solution in DMSO and as solid formulations.
- High purity suitable for agricultural research and analytical applications.
