N-o-Hydroxy-L-norarginine (or N-o-Hydroxy-nor-L-arginine) is a most potent reversible inhibitor of arginase. At pH 7.4 nor-NOHA inhibited the rat liver arginase-dependent hydrolysis of H-Arg-OH with an EC50 = 2 ± 0.5 uM and the arginase activity of mouse macrophages with an EC50 value of 50 ± 10 uM.
