NB-598 is a potent and competitive inhibitor of squalene epoxidase (SE) and suppresses triglyceride biosynthesis through the farnesol pathway. It is also a click chemistry reagent containing an Alkyne group, enabling it to undergo copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAc) with molecules that have Azide groups.
