Protein. Human netrin-1 (aa 25-604) is fused at the C-terminus to a FLAG-tag. Source: HEK 293 cells. Endotoxin content: <0.01EU/µg purified protein (LAL test; Lonza). Lyophilized. Contains PBS plus protein stabilizer. No BSA included. The protein stabilizer shows no interference with protein activity. Binds to human, mouse and rat UNC5B. Purity: >95% (SDS-PAGE). Netrin-1 controls guidance of CNS commissural axons and peripheral motor axons. Its association with either DCC or some UNC5 receptors will lead to axon attraction or repulsion, respectively. Netrin-1 is also Involved in tumorigenesis by regulating apoptosis. Netrin-1 promotes atherosclerosis by retaining macrophages in the artery wall. Netrin-1 also governs induced pluripotent stem cell (iPS) formation and improves reprogramming efficiency of human and mouse somatic cells by limiting apoptosis mediated by Netrin-1 receptors DCC or UNC5b.
