Neuro-DiI was developed as an improved alternative to the widely used fluorescent membrane probe DiI. Neuro-DiI has structural features that may make the probe diffuse faster than DiI on cell membranes and also may result in a more stable labeling. Neuro-DiI has nearly identical absorption and emission wavelengths to those of DiI. Properties: Ex/ Em (MeOH) = 549/565 nm; e = 148,000; Red solid soluble in methanol, ethanol, DMF and DMSO; Store at 4°C and protect from light; C67H115IN2; MW: 1072.
