The NGS CF Control Panel G211plus is intended for use as an external quality control to monitor the analytical performance of in vitro laboratory nucleic acid testing procedures for the qualitative detection of genetic variants found on the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene, associated with cystic fibrosis (CF), including 100 CFTR variants recommended for carrier testing by the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG). Available testing procedures for the detection of CFTR variants include next-generation sequencing (NGS), Sanger sequencing, multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification (MLPA), multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR) with oligonucleotide ligation, capillary electrophoresis, arrays, and mass spectrometry. The NGS CF Control Panel G211plus can also be used as a method control to monitor the ability of an NGS test system to correctly identify challenging types of variants seen throughout the human genome.
