Norgestrel is a synthetic progesterone analog used as an oral contraceptive. It is a racemic mixture of levonorgestrel and dextronorgestrel. Levonorgestrel, the bioactive portion of Norgestrel, inhibits ovulation by causing cervical mucous to thicken. Levonorgestrel has 3 times higher affinity for the progesterone receptor than progesterone. Acts as an agonist for PRα and PRβ. Provided as 10 mg of dry powder. These highly purified, pre-validated control ligands have been used to qualify our InCELL Hunter, PathHunter and cAMP Hunter cell lines as well as our Assay Ready Kits.
