NSC 42834 (JAK2 Inhibitor V) is a novel specific inhibitor of Jak2. It inhibits Jak2-V617F and Jak2-WT autophosphorylation in a dose-dependent manner without being cytotoxic to cells at concentrations that inhibit kinase activity. It selectively inhibits Jak2 kinase function without affecting Tyk2 or c-Src kinase function.
