Oleic acid (9-cis-Octadecenoic acid) is an abundant monounsaturated fatty acid and a Na+/K+ ATPase activator. It is the most common monounsaturated fatty acid in human adipocytes and other tissues. Oleic acid promotes cell proliferation and migration in high metastatic cancer cells by enhancing β-oxidation mediated by AMPK activation.
