mRNA accounts for only 1%-5% of the total RNA in eukaryotic cells making efficient purification of mRNA essential for subsequent experiments Oligo (dT) 25 Beads are specifically designed for purification of eukaryotic mRNA These beads are monodisperse superparamagnetic particles functionalized on their surface with covalently bound oligo (dT) sequences By relying on complementary base pairing between the oligo (dT) sequences and the polyA tail of mRNA these beads can quickly isolate highly purified intact mRNA directly from total RNA or from eukaryotic cells and animal or plant tissues The isolated mRNA can be directly used in first-strand cDNA synthesis reactions with the bound oligo (dT) sequence serving as a primer or it can be eluted from the magnetic beads and utilized in different downstream molecular experiments such as RT-PCR RPA (Ribonuclease Protection Assay) library construction Northern Blot analysis and next-generation sequencing
