Description
The Ion Torrent Oncomine Comprehensive Assay Plus GX is a targeted next-generation sequencing (NGS) assay that provides a comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP) solution appropriate for formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissues from solid tumors. The assay allows concurrent analysis of DNA and RNA to simultaneously detect a broad range of genomic alterations from 517 genes, including single-nucleotide variants (SNVs), insertions and deletions (indels), copy number variations (CNVs), and fusions. Additionally, the assay detects genomic signatures such as homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) using genomic instability metric (GIM), tumor mutational burden (TMB), and microsatellite instability (MSI).
Key features of the assay include:
- Enables CGP across 517 genes
- Accurately detects SNVs, indels, CNVs, including large genomic rearrangements (LGRs) in BRCA1 and BRCA2, and fusions including splice variants
- Assesses for genomic signatures, including HRD, TMB, and MSI, to help maximize insights on the underlying oncogenic drivers
- Provides robust performance from 30 ng of DNA and/or 20 ng of RNA isolated from FFPE samples, including fine needle biopsies
- Provides multiplex sequencing of up to four DNA samples (DNA + RNA or DNA-only) with optional NTC on a GX7 Chip in a single run
- Provides multiplex sequencing of up to eight RNA-only samples (or eight plus optional NTC) per GX7
- System-installed assays preconfigured with settings optimized for specific applications and sample types
- Requires as little as 10 minutes hands-on time per run for easy, automated workflows
- Provides automated Nucleic Acid to Result workflow on the Genexus Integrated Sequencer with next-day results
