Paromomycin (Aminosidine) sulfate is a neomycin derivative, a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic with amebicidal and bactericidal effects. It functions by prematurely terminating the translation of mRNA and inhibiting protein synthesis through specific binding to the RNA oligonucleotide at the A site of bacterial 30S ribosomes. It is suitable for research concerning bacterial and parasitic infections.
