ABclonal Technology hnRNP E1/PCBP1 Rabbit pAb

Supplier: ABclonal Technology A1044100UL
This intronless gene likely arose from retrotransposition of a fully processed PCBP2 mRNA and is a paralogue of PCBP2, PCBP3, and PCBP4. The encoded protein, containing three KH RNA-binding domains, is multifunctional and forms part of the major cellular poly(rC)-binding protein complex along with PCBP2 and hnRNPK. It acts as a translational coactivator for poliovirus RNA by binding to stem-loop IV of the IRES and the 5′ cloverleaf, promoting viral replication. It is also involved in translational regulation of 15-lipoxygenase mRNA, HPV16 L2 mRNA, and hepatitis A virus RNA. Additionally, it plays a role in stabilizing alpha-globin mRNA through formation of a sequence-specific mRNP complex.
