Description

Peptone from porcine and/or bovine is Bacteriological Grade. It is a water-soluble product and is a mixture of polypeptides and amino acids formed by the partial hydrolysis of protein.

  • Peptone is produced from porcine and/or bovine tissues
  • The tissues are digested enzymatically to create small peptides and then spray dried
  • Peptone is used in culture media in bacteriology
  • The growth requirements of most non fastidious organisms will be fulfilled by the range of amino acids, peptides, and proteases in this mixture
