Alkali Scientific Phenol Red Broth with Lactose 8mL with Durham Tube, 10/Pk

Supplier: Alkali Scientific PRBT01
Phenol Red Broth with Lactose, 8mL with Durham Tube, 10/Pk is a differential culture medium designed for detecting lactose fermentation and gas production in bacterial cultures. The formulation includes phenol red as a pH indicator that turns yellow when acid is produced during lactose fermentation. Each tube also contains a Durham tube to trap gas generated by fermenting organisms, enabling simultaneous detection of acid and gas production. The prepared 8mL broth is supplied in durable 13 x 100mm screw cap polycarbonate tubes that support secure handling and contamination prevention. This medium is commonly used in microbial identification workflows to differentiate coliform bacteria and other lactose fermenting organisms in clinical, food, and environmental microbiology laboratories.
