STEMCELL Technologies Human Recombinant PDGF-CC, Size: 50 µg

Supplier: STEMCELL Technologies 78168.1
Use platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) CC in stimulating coronary artery smooth muscle cell proliferation (Gilbertson et al. J Biol Chem, 2001) and tumorigenesis (Zwerner & May. Oncogene, 2001). The PDGF family has five heparin-binding members that assemble into four homodimers (PDGF-AA, PDGF-BB, PDGF-CC, and PDGF-DD) and one heterodimer (PDGF-AB) (Fretto et al. J Biol Chem, 1993; Li & Eriksson. Cytokine Growth Factor Rev, 2003) and signals through the receptor tyrosine kinases PDGFRα and PDGFRβ. PDGF is a potent mitogen for cells of mesenchymal origin and induces migration through signaling pathways involving MEK/ERK, EGFR, Src, and PI3K/AKT (Kim et al. Growth Factors, 2007). PDGF-CC is secreted as a latent growth factor and requires activation by proteolytic processing (Li & Eriksson). Human recombinant PDGF-CC from STEMCELL comes lyophilized with ≥ 95% purity; EC50 ≤ 1 ng/mL; endotoxin levels verified ≤ 0.2 EU/μg protein. Alternative names: PDGF, Platelet-derived growth factor.
