Poly(vinyl alcohol) has been used in the preparation of multilayer active film for its antimicrobial analysis. It has also been used to study the effect of protein supplements on porcine parthenotes.

Poly(vinyl alcohol) is also suitable for:in vitro production (IVP) of bovine embryosoocyte recovery and in vitro maturationas a macromolecular component in basal cultured medium.
