PolyB Selective Supplement is a lyophilized antibiotic supplement that adds polymyxin B selectivity to base media for the recovery of target organisms such as Bacillus cereus. Each vial, sufficient for 500 to 1000 ml of medium, supplies polymyxin B sulphate, which suppresses competing Gram-negative flora so the organisms of interest stand out. Rehydrate with sterile distilled water and add to molten Bacillus Cereus Agar Base or a comparable medium. Store at 2 to 8 C. Packaged as 5 vials.
