Potato Dextrose Agar, Granulated is a classic mycological medium for isolating and enumerating yeasts and moulds from water, dairy, other foods and clinical samples. Potato infusion and dextrose encourage luxuriant fungal growth and sporulation while agar solidifies the medium at final pH 5.6. Acidification with sterile tartaric acid suppresses bacteria when required. The granulated form is low-dusting, flows freely and rehydrates rapidly for easier, safer preparation. Dehydrated powder, store in a cool dry place. Packaged as 500 g.
