The WEG Power Factor Correction Capacitor is a single-phase capacitor designed to improve power factor in electrical systems. It has a 480VAC voltage rating and is available in sizes from 7.5kVAR to 450kVAR. The capacitor uses dry polypropylene film dielectric material and is enclosed in a vented steel enclosure for safety. It can provide leading vars to cancel out lagging vars from inductive loads. This improves power factor, reduces line losses, and improves voltage regulation. The capacitor should be installed with properly rated switching and protection equipment.
