Proteinase 3 (PR3) Human ELISA, 96 wells. Research use only. Immunoassay kit for quantification of human PR3 in serum, plasma, and cell culture media. Calibration range: 0.156 10 ng/ml. Synonyms: Myeloblastin, AGP7, C-ANCA antigen, Leukocyte proteinase 3, PR-3, Neutrophil proteinase 4, NP-4, P29, Wegener autoantigen. Summary: PR3 is a hematopoietic serine protease localized in the primary granules of polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMNs). PR3 participates in direct intracellular killing of phagocytosed pathogens in phagolysosomes and in degradation of extracellular matrix components at inflammatory sites. PR3 is able to process some pro-inflammatory cytokines (ex. IL-1, IL-18, TNF), activate MAPK signaling through PAR1, and induce endothelial cell apoptosis through NF-B signaling pathways. PR3 is the target autoantigen of ANCA in Wegener granulomatosis. Increased PR3 levels were seen in patients with acute myocardial infarction, and in subjects with type 1 diabetes.
