The glass discs are mounted in stainless steel slides with engraved serial numbers. Each slide is supplied in a polished wooden storage case. Reflected light stage micrometer with 0.1" scale subdivided to 0.001". Calibrated by the National Physical Laboratory by taking measurements at selected points on the scale.
