Rabbits were immunized with highly purified green-fluorescent protein (GFP) isolated directly from Aequorea victoria and the resulting antiserum was collected. Antibody was immunoaffinity purified off a native GFP containing immunosorbent. Antibody concentration was determined using an absorbanceat 280 nm: 1.4 equals 1.0 mg of IgG. This antibody reacts with GFP as determined by IEP and ELISA techniques. It is suitable for blotting and ELISA applications. This antibody may recognize variants of recombinant Aequorea green-fluorescent protein. Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the investigator.
