Selectively isolate and differentiate Camplylobacter species from food and poultry industry with Thermo Scientific™ Remel™ Campy-Cefex Agar. The Agar is recommended by the Natonal Advisory Committee on Microbiological Criterion on Food (NACMCF) for isolation of Campylobacter spp. from poultry1.Campy Cefex Agar is also recommended by American Public Health Association (APHA) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for the isolation of Campylobacter spp. from foods and poultry2,3

Campylobacter is a major cause of acute diarrheal disease in humans4. Consumption of contaminated food and water accounts for 70% of Campylobacter related illnesses each year with poultry identified as a primary reservoir.

Campy Cefex Agar is a solid medium recommended for use in qualitative procedures for selective and differential isolation of Camylobacter species from food and poultry.

  • Selective: cefoperazone is a selective agent which inhibits commensal microbial fecal flora and cycloheximide inhibits the growth of fungi.
  • Ready-to- use: convenience of prepared media.
