Identify, cultivate and enumerate yeast and molds with Thermo Scientific™ Remel™ Potato Dextrose Agar. Recommended by American Public Health Association (APHA) and Association of Official Analytical Chemists (AOAC), for plate count of yeasts and molds in the inspection of dairy products and foods1,2,3. This medium is used to prepare slide culture of fungi to stimulate the spores4,5. It is used to maintain stock cultures of dermatophytes. Rebel and Taplin used this medium to differentiate atypical dermatophytes based on the pigment produced6.
