VEGF121 is a 121 amino acid long splice variant of the vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGFA) protein that lacks heparin-binding activity, unlike other VEGF proteins. An agonist of the VEGF receptor tyrosine kinases, including KDR, VEGF functions in angiogenesis, macrophage and granulocyte chemotaxis, and vasodilation. Primary functions include development of new blood vessels during embryonic development. Provided as 2μg of dry powder alongside reconstitution buffer. These highly purified, pre-validated control ligands have been used to qualify our InCELL Hunter, PathHunter and cAMP Hunter cell lines as well as our Assay Ready Kits.
