Sabouraud Dextrose Agar with Lecithin and Tween 80 is a specialized neutralizing culture medium supplied in a 300mL bottle for melt and pour preparation. The formulation is designed to recover fungi from surfaces or products that may contain disinfectants or preservatives. Lecithin neutralizes quaternary ammonium compounds commonly used in cleaning agents, while Tween 80 helps neutralize phenolic disinfectants and similar chemicals. These neutralizers prevent residual chemicals from suppressing microbial growth during testing, allowing injured or low level fungal contaminants to recover. Laboratories use this medium when preparing environmental monitoring plates for pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food production environments.
