Description

Promoter of SERT and nNOS interaction

Sakura 6 is a synthetic serotonin transporter (SERT)-binding peptide. Promotes interaction of SERT and neuronal nitric oxide synthase, reducing SERT activity and cell surface SERT, increases auto-inhibition, reduces synaptic 5-HT release and reduces firing in the dorsal raphe nucleus. Induces an acute depressive phenotype in a mouse model of depression.
