Alumina B Plus Light cartridges feature a highly active grade of alumina with a basic surface chemistry, offering an extremely polar aluminum oxide surface for analyte retention. This normal phase sorbent is more stable than unfunctionalized silica under high pH conditions and also acts as a low-capacity ion exchanger. Its distinctive finned outer body and reduced internal diameter allow for minimal elution volume, improving recoveries and reducing solvent consumption, which is beneficial for applications with limited samples or excessive dilution concerns.
- Has properties of a Lewis acid.
- Can be used to extract phospholipids, steroids, and catecholamines.
- Unaffected by high-energy radioactivity, allowing for radioactive compound isolation.
