Applied Biosystems™ SeqStudio™ Flex Genetic Analyzer 8-Capillary Array
Description
This array is an internally uncoated array for use with the SeqStudio 8 Flex Genetic Analyzer for fragment analysis, sequencing, and protein quality analysis applications. The capillaries in this array are either 36 or 50 cm in length and supplied in preassembled sets of 8 capillaries per array, with a built-in frame for easy installation.
SeqStudio Flex capillary arrays have an improved design that makes the installation process easier and more error proof compared to 3500 system capillary arrays. The improved capillary frame provides a better user experience by minimizing the risk of capillary damage and incorrect placement (figure below).
The SeqStudio Flex 36-cm arrays have been optimized for many applications and for use with POP-7, POP-6, and POP-4 polymer run modules. This provides users with the flexibility to select their ideal run times and read lengths. See the figure below for more detailed information on optimal configurations of the run module, polymer, and array length.
Like 3500 system arrays, SeqStudio Flex capillary arrays include integrated radio frequency identification (RFID) tags on the labels that enable viewing, tracking, and reporting of critical information about reagents and consumables, including usage, lot number, part number, expiration date, and on-instrument lifetime. The RFID labels also enable the Data Collection Software to remind users to replace the array when it is expired or exceeds the recommended usage limit.
SeqStudio Flex capillary arrays are specified for 160 injections.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
The SeqStudio Flex Series Genetic Analyzer capillary arrays have a new array frame which provides better support for the capillaries and a tab near the array tip which makes it easier to insert into the array knob.
The SeqStudio Flex Series Genetic Analyzer capillary arrays are warrantied for a specific number of runs or until the expiration date printed on the array package, whichever comes first. If you notice that you are starting to get reduced data quality (e.g., shorter reads, trailing peaks in all 4 colors) even with the Sequencing Standard, these may be signs that the capillary array requires changing.
No, the capillary arrays for the 3500/3500xL Genetic Analyzers and the arrays for the SeqStudio Flex Series Genetic Analyzers are not interchangeable.
You can request assistance from Technical Support or Instrument Service on the SeqStudio Flex Series Genetic Analyzers via the Smart Help function. In order to use this function, access to Thermo Fisher Connect must be enabled. You can also contact Technical Support at techsupport@thermofisher.com or Service Support at instrumentsupport@thermofisher.com.
The SeqStudio Flex Genetic Analyzer instrument will not run unless the required amount of space is available to save the results on the instrument. To free up space on the hard drive, you will need to delete the run histories. We recommend that you first export the results before deleting them as the process is irreversible. At the home screen, tap Actions > Run history. Select the plates that you want to delete. Tap Delete > OK to confirm.
