This TLC plate contains a layer with channels. Each channel has two adsorbent zones. The Channel-plate has 19 channels which help to prevent cross contamination of samples. The first zone is a standard grade Silica 60 with a surface area of 500 m2/g, mean pore size of 60A, specific pore volume of 0.75 ml/g, and particle size of 5-17um. The second zone is diatomaceous earth. This zone is completely inert towards a large number of compounds. The samples always form a narrow band at the interface of the two adsorbents, irrespective of shape, size or position of the spots in the concentrating zone. Separation then takes place in the silica gel zone. The TLC plates contain UV254 fluorescent indicator. This analytical hard layer is bound to a glass support. It has a thickness of 250um and dimensions of 20x20cm. There are 25 plates per pack.
