Simazine is a triazine herbicide widely used in agriculture and plant production. It induces apoptosis of immune cells and inhibits B and T cell proliferation in mice. Simazine can also disrupt spindle morphology, affect mitochondrial function, increase ROS, and induce DNA damage and early apoptosis in mouse oocytes. In vivo, it leads to immunosuppression and immunotoxicity in mice.
