Biocolor Sircol™ Soluble Collagen Assay is a quantitative assay for measurement both acid-soluble and pepsin-soluble collagens. The colorimetric assay is a dye-binding method using Sircol™ Dye Reagent, containing Sirius Red dye in picric acid. Kit is suitable for all mammalian collagens, Types I to V. The Sircol™ Assay can monitor collagen produced in situ, or during in-vitro cell culture. Can also measure in-vitro extracellular matrix (ECM) formation. The Biocolor Sircol™ INSOLUBLE Collagen Assay is a dye-binding method for the analysis of insoluble collagen fibers. Uses Sircol™ Dye Reagent, containing Sirius Red dye in picric acid. Replaces the conventional hydroxyproline analysis. No more working with concentrated acids or alkalis! This assay uses mild acid & temp. treatment for 2-3 hrs. Solubility conversion to denatured collagen & subsequent measurement can be completed within 1 work day. Sources of material includes tissues, bone & calcified tissue.
