SKI V is a potent, noncompetitive non-lipid sphingosine kinase (SPHK) inhibitor with an IC50 of 2 μM for GST-hSK. It also inhibits PI3K with an IC50 of 6 μM. This compound reduces the formation of sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P), induces apoptosis, and demonstrates antitumor activity. It appears as a light yellow to yellow solid.
