Sodium propionate increases PPAR-γ, inhibits NF-κB activation, reduces COX-2 expression and NO production, and induces Apoptosis and Autophagy. It also reduces HSV-1-induced keratitis and has anticancer effects against glioblastoma. Additionally, it exhibits neuroprotective, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory activities, making it useful in research for spinal cord injury and Alzheimer's disease.
