The preparation of methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK) using i-PrOH as the precursor has been reported with yield as high as 25%. The solubility of benzoic acid has been investigated in i-PrOH by gravimetric method in the temperature range 277-346K. Its photocatalytic degradation has been examined by various methods.
