Promote the maintenance and expansion of human hematopoietic stem cells in culture (Boitano et al. Science, 2010, Csaszar et al. Cell Stem Cell, 2012) with StemRegenin 1. StemRegenin 1 is an antagonist of the aryl hydrocarbon receptor. It promotes ex vivo expansion of CD34+ human hematopoietic stem cells and the generation of CD34+ hematopoietic progenitor cells from non-human primate induced pluripotent stem cells. StemRegenin 1 can be used in stimulating the differentiation of CD34+ hematopoietic progenitor cells into functional human dendritic cells (Thordardottir et al. Stem Cells Dev, 2014) and promoting hematopoietic differentiation of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) (Gori et al. Blood, 2012). Together with UM729, it can also be used in preventing differentiation of AML cells in culture.
