Microfluidic generation of droplets can produce highly monodispersed droplets with high frequency (up to hundreds of kHz). Interest in droplet-based microfluidic systems has grown substantially, because microfluidics offers the ability to handle very small volumes (mul to fl) of fluids, provides better mixing, encapsulation, sorting, and sensing. Microfluidics can be used for high throughput experimentation. Microfluidic-based droplets have many diverse applications such as particle synthesis and chemical analysis. Highly controlled droplet production also makes single cell analysis, or drug testing possible.Straight channel chip (4 parallel channels), Fluidic 180, PMMA is the same dimensions of a microscope slide (75.5 mm x 25.5 mm x 1.5 mm). The channel distance from center to center is 4.5 mm according to the spacing of a 384-microtiter plate. The fluidic chips are available with Mini Luer interfaces that can be used with the respective counterpart. Alternatively, standard Luer interfaces are convenient. Channels can be orientated crosswise or lengthwise on the chip.
