Used to determine limit of detection (LOD), in diagnostic assay development or crossreactivity studies

  • Each frozen aliquot contains 1mL of pure, titered culture of  Streptococcus bovis
  • Identification of this organism was confirmed by 16S sequencing
  • Purity of culture was monitored by Gram staining and by additional culturing
  • Titer was performed on one aliquot after freezing
  • Freezing medium contains 15% glycerol as cryoprotectant
  • Contain intact organisms and should be run in a manner identical to that used for clinical specimen
