Chemglass Life Sciences Sublimer Cold Finger, Minum-Ware

Supplier: Chemglass Life Sciences MW7501
Sublimer Cold Finger, Minum-Ware. The long cold finger is inserted thru a MW-20 claisen adapter and into a MW-54 thin wall reaction vial and then filled with ice water. A MW-32 thermometer adapter is then inserted into the other arm of the claisen adapter and connected to a vacuum source. The vial is heated with a Bunsen burner, while the ice is replaced every 1-2 minutes with a Pasteur pipette. With the Bunsen burner, it is possible to chase the sublimate off the side walls of the vial. Sublimation takes place rapidly-within 5 minutes. Cold finger has a 14/10 inner joint. (Designed and developed by, Dr. Don Pavia and Ruth Schoonover, Western Washington University, Bellingham, Washington.)
