Sulfo-NHS-SS-11-Biotin is an amine-reactive water-soluble biotinylation reagent containing an N-hydroxysulfosuccinimide (Sulfo-NHS) active ester group and a cleavable disulfide bond The Sulfo-NHS moiety reacts specifically with primary amines in proteins peptides or other biomolecules forming stable amide linkages This reagent introduces a disulfide-containing spacer arm enabling subsequent selective cleavage under reducing conditions for release of biotinylated molecules It is commonly employed in affinity chromatography immunoprecipitation experiments cell surface protein labeling and target identification allowing isolation purification or detection of biomolecules through streptavidin or avidin affinity interactions
